Honda Malaysia has launched the highly-anticipated Civic Type R.

The world’s fastest front wheel drive is powered by a 2.0L VTEC turbocharged engine that offers 306bhp and maximum torque of 400Nm. It is only available with six-speed manual transmission.

The Civic Type R has three driving modes Comfort, Sport and R+ which control the Adaptive Damper System (ADS), Drive-by-Wire throttle (DBW), Electronic Power Steering (EPS), Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA), traction and brake system

The Honda hot hatch was crowned ‘Champion of Champions’ title after setting a new benchmark lap time record of 7 minutes 43.80 seconds at the Nurburgring Circuit in Germany in April 2017.

The global model Civic Type R is based on the Honda Civic hatchback with modifications to the body, suspension and other underpinnings, and the brakes which are four-pot Brembos. The car is shod with 20-inch rims.

The sports seats are lightweight buckets with red stripes. Every Type R is numbered with the serial number located at the centre console.

The Honda Civic Type R is RM320,000 on-the-road, excluding insurance. As with all things exclusive there is already a waiting list for Malaysia deliveries with 60 orders placed at the launch.
