Naquib Azlan was Champion Porsche Esports Sprint Challenge Malaysia 2025
Naquib Azlan is to contest in the full 2026 season in the Pro Category for Team Porsche Malaysia at the Porsche Carrera Cup Asia, one-make championship. The highly competitive platform where identical cars spotlight driver’s abilities as the difference between first and the rest of the grid. It is one of Asia’s most demanding grids.
Naquib began his motorsport journey in 2020 by way of competitive sim racing before progressing to on-track competition. The winner of the Porsche Esports Sprint Challenge Malaysia 2025 – Driven Dreamers category, the 26 year old was selected for the Porsche Carrera Cup Asia Talent Pool programme as a result of that. The initiative identifies and supports promising drivers through professional coaching, training camps and structured performance development — part of Porsche’s commitment to cultivating talent within the region.
“My first introduction to motorsports was through sim racing, and I was hooked from the very beginning. Competing in the Porsche Esports Sprint Challenge Malaysia opened doors I never imagined possible. To now race with Porsche Malaysia, which has a strong racing heritage, is an absolute honour. I’m grateful for the belief and support from the team at Porsche Malaysia, as well as the guidance from Axle Motorsports throughout this journey. I look forward to representing Malaysia and Porsche on the international stage,” said Naquib Azlan, race driver for Team Porsche Malaysia.
In preparation for the season ahead, Naquib recently completed the Official Test Day at Zhuhai International Circuit from 28 February to 1 January. He set the overall fastest lap time of the session with a 1:35.391 lap time.
Standing out in blue
For the 2026 season, Team Porsche Malaysia will compete in a distinctive blue livery accented with orange highlights, the colours of the Sime Motors brand. The roof of the 911 GT3 Cup (992.2) car also features the official layout of the Porsche Experience Centre Singapore. This livery will be carried consistently across all championship rounds, with Naquib racing under car number 17.
The Porsche Experience Centre Singapore, anticipated to open in 2027, will be the first in the region and the 11th worldwide. It promises to deliver immersive, on-track experiences for customers and fans, further strengthening Porsche’s presence and motorsport culture in Southeast Asia and beyond.
The 2026 Porsche Carrera Cup Asia season opens in Shanghai, China, from 14–15 March, before travelling to key circuits across the region. The championship will return to Sepang International Circuit later in the season for Rounds 9, 10 and 11, featuring two sprint races and one endurance format weekend.
With a full-season campaign ahead, Naquib’s participation represents more than a personal milestone. It signals Porsche Malaysia’s long-term commitment to building a sustainable motorsport pathway — one where Malaysian talent can progress with purpose and compete at the highest regional level.
