Lamborghini Temerario hybrid super sports car does 0-100km/h in 2.7 seconds
Lamborghini Temerario is now in Malaysia. The hybrid super sports car starts from RM1.3 million before customisation options and relevant taxes.
The third hybrid vehicle from Lamborghini, the mid-engined Temerario has a new high-revving twin-turbo V8 hybrid engine powered by three electric motors with a combined output of 920CV (907hp). The oil-cooled axial flow motor is integrated in the V8 housing with two electric motors on the front axle. There is a specific output of 200CV per litre. The transmission is an eight-gear dual-clutch.
The electric motor, in P1 position (between the V8 engine and the gearbox) gives an immediate response starting from low engine speed and continues consistently through gear transitions, working as a “torque gap filler” to give the sensation of linear and limitless progression up to 10,000 revs.
It is capable of revving up to 10,000rpm. Zero to 100km/h is in 2.7 seconds, reaching a top speed of 343km/h.
There is a new aluminium chassis with increased torsional rigidity for optimised driving dynamics and passenger comfort. Improved passenger comfort includes 34mm more headroom and 46mm more legroom. There is also a 4.8° increase in visibility enabling the Temerario to accommodate passengers up to 200 cm tall even if wearing a helmet. This enables tall drivers wearing a helmet to comfortably enjoy track days. The luggage capacity in the front boot is 112-litres, the equivalent to two cabin-sized suitcases.
The Lamborghini Temerario features a new design language which includes distinctive new hexagonal Daytime Running Lights. The hexagon is a signature design theme throughout the car: on the main bodywork, the side air intakes, the taillights and in the hexagonal exhaust pipe which is waist height.
The hexagonal daytime running lights incorporate an integrated radar sensor. There are also an air tunnel and air channels below the headlights to improve aerodynamics and cool the braking system more efficiently. The hexagonal DRLs with integrated deflectors and air intakes to the vortex generators beneath the car, also manage airflow precisely. Rear downforce has increased by 103 per cent compared to the Huracán EVO and up to 158 per cent with the Alleggerita Pack. The roof’s central channel and integrated rear spoiler optimise airflow while the curved engine hood sides enhance aerodynamic performance. There is also a new brake cooling concept and improved overall system efficiency. This new system gives up to 50 per cent better caliper cooling and 20 per cent increased disc cooling over the Huracán EVO.
The Temerario has several drive modes. These are selected via the the upper left red-crowned rotor on the steering wheel. The drive modes are Città, Strada, Sport, Corsa and Corsa Plus (ESC Off – electronic controls deactivated). There is also Launch Control, activated by pressing the “checkered flag” button for two seconds.
Together with the hybrid system, three new dedicated driving modes also debut: Recharge, Hybrid and Performance, selectable via the upper right rotor. The driving mode is displayed on the driver’s 12.3-inch digital dashboard.
The Temerario is available in two new colours, Blu Marinus (blue) and Verde Mercurius (green). Over 400 body colours and special liveries are available providing almost infinite customisation possibilities through Lamborghini’s Ad Personam programme. The new rims, 20” at the front and 21” at the rear, are available in three different designs and materials: cast rims (three colours), forged (four colours) and carbon. There is also a wide range of carbon fibre elements for exteriors and interiors. These are:
- front splitter
- mirror caps
- side upper vents
- rear diffuser
- central tunnel
- instrument cluster
- air vents
- door switch frame
- steering wheel in carbon
- steering column cover
- gearshift.
There is also the ‘Alleggerita’ (lightweight), package for customers more oriented towards track driving. It reduces the car’s weight by 12.65 kg through body components alone, with a reduction of over 25 kg when incorporating lightweight interior elements and carbon rims, and is even more efficient from an aerodynamic point of view (+67% aerodynamic load).
The Lamborghini Temerario is available through Lamborghini Kuala Lumpur, starting from RM 1,350,000 before duties, taxes and personalisation.
