Honda Malaysia’s incoming line-up to include a small SUV
Honda Malaysia has announced plans for 2023. This includes the launch of four new cars in 2023. Three of the models will be “all-new” models, including a small SUV, rumoured to be the WR-V, a Perodua Ativa rival. The fourth car will be a facelift.
Honda Malaysia will become the first Japanese mass market manufacturer to enter the Small SUV segment.
Also in the plans for 2023 are further development in electric and hybrid vehicle technology. Honda Malaysia shared that their strategic business direction for 2023 includes a sales target of 80,000 units with 12.3% marketshare.
In terms of after-sales, Honda Malaysia will be introducing 2S (Service and Spare Parts) Pit Stop and promoting after-sales activities.
In addition, more models will have Honda Connect, the app which includes safety, security and convenience features. These models are the City RS, City Hatchback RS, Civic RS, Civic e:HEV RS and HR-V e:HEV RS.
Finally, the HondaTouch platform will be upgraded to make it more convenient and accessible for Honda customer as part of Honda Malaysia’s efforts to step up Honda customers’ digital journey and encourage more sustainable practices.
Fuelled by the “Challenging Spirit”, Honda Malaysia disclosed that 80,290 units were sold last year. This was a 51% increase from the total sales in 2021. The total sales represented 11.1% of the Total Industry Volume (TIV) in 2022. The Company also retained its No.1 position in the
Non-National Passenger Vehicle Segment for the ninth consecutive year.
Honda Malaysia expressed appreciation to their customers and the Malaysian Government for their unwavering support and trust in the Honda brand and stated that they are doing their best to fulfil all the bookings and ensure timely delivery for the new models despite the global semiconductor shortage. At the same time, Honda Malaysia will continue to introduce new technology to enhance mobility and improve people’s lives to build a better society.
