Bentley Bentayga EWB Azure adds 180mm to standard Bentayga model
The extended wheelbase Bentley Bentagya is now in Malaysia in Azure trim level.
At 5322mm, the EWB Bentayga is 180mm longer than the standard Bentayga. The wheelbase is 3175mm with the additional length 180mm going to the rear passenger section, larger than any other luxury competitor, with a correspondingly longer rear door.
The EWB Bentayga is differentiated by the bright chrome vanes over Bentley’s signature matrix grille which is flanked on either side by the crystal-cut design LED matrix headlights. The wheels are 22-inch Ten Spoke Alloys.
Available with a 4.0-litre eight-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that produces 542bhp and 770Nm of torque, the zero to 100km/h time is 4.5 seconds before going on to a top speed of 290km/h. Transmission is an eight-speed automatic gearbox.
Electronic All Wheel Steering in introduced in the EWB Bentayga which makes the turning circle seven per cent – or just 11.8 metres – smaller than the standard Bentayga. Other electronic ride technologies are all-wheel drive, Bentley Dynamic Ride with 48V electric anti-roll bar, four ride heights, eight drive control modes and air suspension with electronic shock absorption.
A long list of active and passive safety equipment as well as driver assistance features are in the EWB Bentayga Azure. These include adaptive cruise control, blind spot assist, night vision and traffic assist.
Bentley’s Azure specification provides luxurious comfort and wellness features that pamper the driver and passengers so they arrive at their destination feeling refreshed and alert. These features can be accessed through the touchscreen remote for the rear passengers and include the new 22-way adjustable Bentley Airline Seat Specification which Bentley proclaims as the most advanced seat ever fitted in a car. There is also a Naim for Bentley 1720W, 20 channel audio system with 20 speakers including super-tweeters.
The seats have two modes, Relax and Business. In Relax mode, the back reclines to 40 degrees as a motor moves the passenger seat forward while a foot rest deploys from the back of the front passenger seats. In Business mode, the seat moves into its most upright position, the most conducive for working on the move.
In addition, a world-first, the seats have a postural adjustment system which automatically makes micro adjustments to the occupants seating position and pressure points, by measuring pressure across the seat surface. The system can apply 177 individual pressure changes across six fully independent pressure zones over a three-hour period to improve comfort and minimise fatigue throughout a journey.
Another world-first is the new auto climate sensing system which senses occupant temperature and surface humidity and either applies heat or ventilation – or both simultaneously – to keep the occupants in optimal comfort.
The Bentayga EWB Azure has newly introduced styling features like Bentley Diamond Illumination. The illumination effect is from LEDs embedded in the door which emit light through small perforations in the leather trim on the door. There are over 24 billion trim combinations to customise a Bentley interior, with the total number of specifications running into the trillions.
