All-new Range Rover L460 is fifth-generation of iconic Range Rover
The all-new Range Rover L460 is now in Malaysia. The luxury SUV, now in its fifth generation, is the first model to use Land Rover’s flexible Modular Longitudinal Architecture (MLA-Flex). The new MLA-Flex body architecture is designed to accommodate internal combustion (ICE), plug-in hybrid (PHEV) and battery electric (BEV) powertrains.
The five-seater L460 is powered by a 4.4-litre V8 engine that produces 522bhp and 750Nm of torque between 1800 to 4600rpm. The transmission is an eight-speed automatic with twin speed transmission for off-road. The 0-100km/h time is 4.7 seconds.
The all-aluminium body is 75mm longer than the previous model. It is also up to 50 per cent stiffer with a 24 per cent improvement in noise transmission.
Design highlights of the all-new Range Rover include “hidden-until-lit” taillights which are a world-first feature. The doors are fully flush to the glazing which minimises airflow over the side of the vehicle to achieve a 0.3Cd, one of the lowest.
Technological highlights include Active Noise Cancellation technology, Electronic Air Suspension which automatically lowers the ride height when cruising above 105km/h to optimise aerodynamics and handling. There is also active brake cooling and all-wheel steer which provides cornering and high-speed stability and reduces the turning circle to less than 11m. This is the most manoeuvrable Range Rover ever.
Features in the Range Rover are Pivi Pro infotainment with a 13.1-inch floating glass touchscreen with haptic feedback, new 13.7-inch Interactive Driver Display, ClearSight Ground View with 3D Surround Camera and manoeuvring lights to illuminate the ground at low speeds to help guide drivers into tight spots.
