Proton introduces N95 filter to air purification system in X70

N95 filters can be retrofitted to older Proton X70s

Proton is upgrading the air purification system in the X70 by adding N95 particulate filters. The X70 cabin air purifier now consists of an N95 cabin filter on top of the existing HEPA filter.

The new N95 Cabin Filter removes 95 per cent of particles larger than 0.3 microns and 98 per cent of PM2.5 dust particulates. It is an effective barrier against smoke particulates, dust, bacteria and other pollutants. The N95 filter functions in both fresh and recirculation modes for the air-conditioning system.

The High Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) filter removes 99.97% of particles larger than 0.3 microns. There is also an activated carbon layer to remove odours, formaldehyde and purifies smoke particulates. In addition, there’s an ioniser that discharges negative ions to clean the air.

By combining the Air Purifier System with the N95 Cabin Filter, the PROTON Intelligent Air Purification System (P-IAPS) acts as a barrier against contaminated air making its way into the cabin. This offers a high level of protection against airborne pollutants for a cleaner and healthier environment. in the earlier system.

The N95 Cabin Filter upgrade will be fitted in the 2020 Proton X70 produced at Tanjung Malim. Owners of the CBU X70 units will be able to upgrade their existing dust and pollen filter to the N95 Cabin Filter for RM79, excluding labour charges. From 18 May – 18 August 2020, Proton will be offering a 15% discount on the price of the filter.
