The all-new Perodua Myvi has been launched. Two engine variations are offered – 1.3-litre and 1.5-litre – with prices ranging between RM44,300 and RM55,300.
Both engines are new. The transmission remains a four-speed automatic.
The Myvi was designed locally by an in-house Perodua team. The body is now 205mm longer, 30mm lower and 70mm wider than its predecessor with an interior that now offers more legroom – almost 1metre in total. Meanwhile cargo space has grown and is now 277 litres.
The all-new Myvi has been awarded an ASEAN NCAP five star rating on account of the new safety features in the Advanced Safety Assist package which consists of four features:
- Pre-Collision Warning that warns the driver of imminent collision
- Pre-Collision Braking that applies the brakes if the driver fails to act.
- Front Departure Alert warns drivers when the car in front has moved.
- Pedal Misoperation Control to prevent the car moving if the driver puts the car into Drive instead of Reverse when there is an obstacle, like a wall, in front.
The ASA features are linked to the forward facing stereo camera.
Other features in the Myvi are a built-in toll card reader and anti-theft hook.
ASA and the built-in toll card readers are only offered in the top-of-the-range Advance Version.
Standard features include LED headlights with follow-me-home function and headlamp levelling, LED rear combination lamps with light guides, smart entry and push-button start.
Standard safety features include ABS, EBD and VSC. The 1.5 variant has 6 airbags, the 1.3 has four.
The six colours offered are Ivory White, Glittering Silver, Mystical Purple, Lava Red, Peppermint Green (1.3-litre variant only) and Granite Grey (a new colour for 1.5-litre variant only). There’s a five-year/150,000km warranty.
